Kate Meyers is proudly offering relaxing and therapeutic Swedish massage, hot stone massage and essential oil wraps to help you reduce the tension in your body and mind. Kate provides massage with a friendly, approachable yet professional attitude that helps you feel at ease in any environment.

Kate also brings your horse to its physical and mental peak by blending traditional Swedish massage with sports massage techniques and mixing remedial exercises, hydrotherapy and stretches to achieve the best possible results.  Kate recognizes that not all horses are the same and is constantly exploring other methods of bodywork. You may also see her use methods and ideas pioneered by Mike Scott, Jim Masterson and various equine professionals.

Kate is passionate about improving your horse's physical and mental state. Whether it's rehabilitating a horse from an injury or calming a nervous contest horse, that passion shines through. She is also ready and willing to teach you how to do many of the basics yourself to help build trust and a willing working relationship with your horse.

Therapeutic massage is believed to have developed from East Asian folk medicine and has been used for thousands of years to soothe and heal. The use of massage on horses can be traced back to the Egyptians where veterinarians were assisted by massage therapists. From there the Romans recommended massage for horses (and dogs) to increase the strength of their limbs, promote a health coat and cleanse the skin.

Today, massage is defined as "the assessment of the soft tissues and joints of the body and the treatment of prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function and/or relieve pain." Or more simply, "the manipulation of soft tissues and joints for therapeutic purposes."
